Upon his return from Australia, Norman found out that the cancer had spread to his bladder, and that he would have to have this removed also. Unfortunatley on the first attempt, Norman had a major allergic reaction to the anaesthetic and had to be resusitated and admitted to ICU. It was several weeks later that the operation was attempted again. Yet again, more medical complications due to a blockage meant a major wound which took over 12 months to heal.
