Food

Another passion over the years was the love of food. Enjoyment was had from family meals at local pubs. Norman rarely ate a lunch, but was proud of his reputation to be able to eat good portion sizes. This even let to friendly competition over Christmas dinner on who could eat the biggest plate full with his son in laws. He was rarely seen in the kitchen for most of his life, but did enjoy making the cooked grill on a Saturday night, to which he had perfected techniques Gordon Ramsey would have been proud of. In the last five years or so, he was a frequent customer at the Manor where he enjoyed tucking into the Roast Beef carvery. More recently to many peoples surprise, he was a dedicated watcher of cookery programmes and had an impressive collectionof books he would read avidly. On several occasions he was even known to venture into a supermarket. Whether it was the luck of the Irish, we will never know, but some of the meals weren't half bad.
