For Norman's birthday in January 2009 his daughters organised a family go kart event at a race track. Norman, his daughters, thier partners and his three grandaughters all enjoyed a memorable day of racing with Norman determined not to let his daughters overtake him. Lap times were recorded: Norman was pleased to have at least beaten Imogen his youngest grandaughter ! At the end of the race and before everybody retired to the cafeteria, Norman was seen pondering over the kart wondering how he could have made it go quicker.
